At the Kiwanis Club of Perth, we can offer a range of roles, work experience and training in the areas of: community service, charity fundraising, project management, volunteer management, children’s literacy programs, retail bookselling, event management and marketing.
We’re also known for building new friendships and local community connections.

Children’s literacy awards promotion
Volunteering for children’s reading programs
Carols in the park, Avon Descent and other local market stalls
Book, spectacle, bottle and can recycling programs
Fundraising to support the incredible work of organisations such as HeartKids.

Kiwanis Volunteer Membership Options
Become a Club Friend
Benefits: As a Club Friend you will be offered bookshop, event and project support roles designed to develop or share your skills in community service, retail sales, customer service, charity fundraising, cataloguing, money and food handling, merchandising, marketing, photography and/or social media. Club Friends with relevant experience may take on mentoring and volunteer leadership roles.
Fees and requirements:
Membership fee: No joining fees
Commitment: six-months volunteering, active at least once per month
Age: 14 years or older (people under 18 years require guardian permission)
Must have: WA Police Clearance (funded by the Club). A Working With Children Check (funded by the Club) is only required for specific volunteer roles.
Benefits: Our Club Members can nominate for a range of executive, committee and project management roles, as well as supporting roles. They may be offered Kiwanis International and club-based training, and invited to attend conferences and meetings. Club Members can nominate projects, and vote on major decisions including who receives donations.
Roles: President’s Personal Assistant, Literacy Program Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, Working With Children Checker, Community Relations Officer, Bookshop Coordinator, Spectacle Recycling Coordinator, Website Administrator, Event Manager, Partner Volunteering Coordinator, and all supporting roles. Members may also become mentors bringing their area of expertise.
Fees and requirements:
Membership fee: $60 per year subsidised by the Club (was $140), new members may have their fee waived for six months
Commitment: 2 year volunteering, active at least twice per month
Age: 18 years or older
Must have: WA Police Clearance (paid by the Club). A Working With Children Check (funded by the Club) is only required for specific volunteer roles.
