Ed Piggott, a long-serving member of Kiwanis was recognised for his contributions to Western Australian communities, just prior to his passing in March.
Ed was the Lt Governor for Kiwanis Division 4 in Western Australia in the Late 1970’s when he started a new Kiwanis Club in the suburb of Karrinyup.
Jim Chantry, Kiwanis Charter Member and Vice President, and Carole Chantry, a 30yr member of the club, visited Ed to celebrate his 100th birthday where he ‘chaired’ the day’s meeting.
Jim and Carole visited Ed at a nursing home in Bunbury, which involved a 400km round trip.
The photo shows Ed reading the original handwritten minutes of the Organisational Meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Karrinyup on 30 September 1980.
This year we celebrate the 45th year of Ed’s legacy.
